What did Obama mean when he said this about citizens who protest?
“No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime. No more tracking citizens who do nothing more than protest a misguided war.”

Dear Mr. Peanut :
My logic circuit seemed to be overloaded by this:
“Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov.”
The White House – President Barack Obama

It doesn’t matter, I wouldn’t believe it anyway.
But read the first sentence very carefully:
“No more national security letters to spy on citizens who are not suspected of a crime”
That statement literally admits this:
“There will be more national security letters to spy on citizens who are suspected of a crime”
Did you follow the reasoning?
Edit: I know the story of the snitch-site. It gets worse.
The White House issued statements that the line had been shut down, to get people off their backs.
The fact was that when someone sends a snitch email now, the site says it is shut down, but re-directs the person to a different site.
So the government still gets the emails, and the people still get put on a list.
How’s that for a con-job?

He was just providing cover for his snitch email program.

Obama was calling for an end to Bush’s program of spying on people who are not suspected of a crime. That also includes keeping files on people who are just protesting what they, Obama, and many others, felt was a misguided war.
Oh yes, that must make Obama an anti-American socialist for actually wanting the federal government (including the president and vice-president) to actually uphold the constitution and bill of rights. Shame on him!
