Hey All ,

i don’t know much about php and sql . but i tried to load flash chat on my webspace of
mca.domain.com i created a database named as database and i added a user named as user in that from cp then it show mca_user and database as mca_database now in install.php of flashchat it ask for

Host:localhost
Login:mca_user
Database Name:mca_database

Table Prefix:flashchat_

this wht i put there or i go with “user” and “database” instead of mca_user and mca_database

i hav gone through readme file of flash chat they said this

Follow the instructions that you see on your screen. The database connection parameters are usually NOT the same as your FTP login information. You should contact your website administrator to determine the correct MySQL login parameters. ”

so i have other mysql login parameters ?

i also changed the the file access to of /appdata/appTime.txt and /inc/config.srv.php with chmod to 777

Now how to go with this

I don’t actually want to set up a server- I just need to learn for a server at work. I need to learn PHP, learn to interact with mysql…
so I am looking ONLY to install these components- I don’t need security or mailing software.
I think I got a hold of the wrong versions of apache and mysql(What versions go well together) I found download packages- but they include the security and mail portion (Which I dont’ want)

Any suggestions?
