With the continued and known associations between LTTE and other terrorist groups such as PKK and Hamas not only on foreign soils but in US court cases the linkages to funding, trafficking and costly, societally disruptive “political” actions that have led to dangerous situations domestically (and are matters of national security and are war crimes) are all matters that deserve due diligence for those people did not organise or collaborate without the LTTE.
The US is up against several illegally funded separationist groups working on its own soil, the extents of those bodies and their foreign affiliations have yet to be explored. The US cannot claim that ist own behaviours may have been put to media misrepresentation without allowing EVERY possibility that such misrepresentations occur in forums where there is less US involvement. If I had not spoken in person to Hillary Clinton, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, in the lead up to this last US presidential election – it would be one thing but this information did make it to several power players and it is up to the US to act to protect its own country and realixe that Sri Lanka has acted to protect her own soil and her own peoples.
