I want to learn network programming, scripting, web development using scripting languages. There are so many books in the market and every one of them claims to be the best. So I need first hand informations and tips to choose the correct book both for beginner’s and advanced level users.

I want to know what backend Programming Language Does yahoo use for its dynamic webpages , for example asp.net,asp,jsp,php etc. and also i am curious to know what database they might be using
I think it can’t be PHP because at the time when Yahoo started , The PHP technology was not very much matured .
It either has to be ASP or JSP or any other Proprietary language developed by Yahoo.
Thanks Folks i think i have got the answer.Though i was right at the first point that yahoo doesnot use PHP because PHP was not mature at the time Yahoo started but Yahoo Chose to Use PHP in 2002 which was a major shift for yahoo from its Proprietary Language which was a combination of c/c++.

how to learn php programming?

Any computer programmers out there (Internet programmers, to be more precise – e.g. Actionscript, PHP, etc) – who have ideas on things I could code? I’ve messed around with a few app ideas, but I just don’t know where some programmers come up with ideas for “on-their-own-time” applications that might be useful and help them keep in touch with their coding skills/learn new languages/etc.

I would like to use a PHP framework in my work and you can help me to choose one.
