If also possible, what security mods are recommended for Apache and FTP servers?

Now, i was answering questions and somebody asked if you wanted to play world of warcraft for free on his own private server but in order to do this i must creat an account at http://wowlast.servegame.com/index.php?f=1&s=0 then i must go to the real website, https://signup.worldofwarcraft.com/trial/10dayfreetrial.htm and download the trial version then agree the terms of use and all that stuff then the guy from AIM told me to save WOW in my program files folder and dowload it does this seem legititmate and safe i mean i over im i had him say, “my private free server is legal, safe and legitamate in all manners (his name removed for safety reasons)” Im just extremely nervous about all this and i dont know if i should go through with it because it will harm my computer and security

I’m learning to build an e-commerce style web site based on PHP and MySQL.

I wanted some opinions (and facts) about the best web server to use in this case? in terms of security, reliability, performance, flexibility and any other advantages/disadvantages which may apply.

I need the the details of the provider. The server should be US based, LINUX (specially) where I can resell the reseller accounts to my clients by giving them WHM/cpanel. The price should be very competitive and affordable. I am from Nepal and it would be better if I don’t need to do the business with Credit Card as the facility is not available in Nepal (International CC). The server should have better datatransfer/ bandwidth, audio video streaming facility, POP email accounts, PHP,MySql, CGI-bin etc…

i am developing a monitoring system that uses PHP/MYSQL in dreamweaver. while trying to connect dreamweaver with mysql i get the above error. what should i change in the testing server settings? local info settings? remote info settings?
